Kind of a big deal, in case you didn't know........

"Fashions fade, style is eternal."
— Yves Saint-Laurent

Back in November of 2010 I was given the opportunity to resign from my position at an awesome interactive marketing and PR firm (wellbornIdeas) in order to stay home with my only child for the months until he started K-4.  Although this was an amazing experience I started to get the itch to return to something.  I needed something to do while he was in school. After all, it is hard to be a stay at home mom when your kid is not there.  Around the end of July of this year while I was itching to figure out my next steps I got a phone call from a friend who was working at this awesome new magazine that had been taking the Bay area by storm, Access.  They were looking for ad sales reps and within 20 seconds of hearing the Editor in Chief/ Publisher I was sold.

Hayley Hill started Access last year but had been researching the concept for quite some time prior to launching this completely unique guilty pleasure.  Hayley's background makes this experience for me.  She is AH-MAZ-ING.  Seriously.  The woman has a fierce fashion sense and the resume to back it up!

Prior to moving to Mobile, Hayley was in the ridiculously high pressure world of publishing in New York for 20 years.  Not only did she launch Teen People but she also held top positions at magazines like US Weekly and InStyle.  As if that were not fabulous enough, Hayley was also a well known stylist.  She has dressed some sick names for everything from red carpets to album covers.  People such as Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Pink, Mandy Moore, Jessica Simpson, Beyonce, and Brooke Shields.

Having the opportunity to work for someone of this caliber is clearly one of the best experiences I have had professionally.  Not only is it exciting to be a part of something that EVERYONE is talking about, it is mind blowing to watch this talented, creative and bold person take a concept to a reality each month.

If you have not yet had a chance to read the magazine you should.  It is not heavy investigative journalism but it is a delightful guilty pleasure each month that people read cover to cover.
